Proper care of your denture or dental appliance will help ensure that it lasts for years to come.

At Somerville Dental, we recommend the following:

• Clean your denture or dental appliance every day to remove food particles and prevent bacterial build-up.
• Use a denture cream, not toothpaste; toothpaste can scratch the surface of your denture or dental appliance.
• Avoid rinsing with hot water; it can warp your denture or dental appliance causing it to no longer fit properly.
• If your denture or dental appliance fits uncomfortably or has warped in some way, do not attempt to adjust it on your own. See your dentist as soon as possible to reline, rebase or repair your denture or dental appliance.
• Soak your denture or dental appliance in water or a denture cleaner to prevent it from drying out.
